One Post-Doctoral Research Associate, full-time, fixed-term position is available starting July 1, 2008. The Department of Microbiology is seeking to fill a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term Post-Doctoral Research Associate position. The successful applicant will assist the principal investigator by conducting research in the areas of marine microbiology, genomics and oceanography. Specifically, this project includes analysis of mass spectrometer data for organic compounds metabolized and excreted by marine bacteria in culture and in natural seawater. Preferred qualifications include experience with microbial cultivation, bioinformatics, metabolomics, and custom software development. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity is also desired. Starting salary ranges from $34K to $38K/annually, depending on experience.
